Dragon Tongue beans and chickpea pasta

This is a genuine summer garden treat!

What ever kind of wax beans you are growing will work. I am growing dragon tongue beans, partly because they are a heritage been, and they are cool looking. Their real magic comes when you pick them and cook them right away, maximizing their energetic value to your own energy-based body. The following recipe maximized energy and nutrition, you don’t need need a lot.

Pick the beans. If your garden is filled with plants, you won't have much dirt on your beans and you don't need to wash them. Otherwise, wash if you want to. Definitely wash the beans if you bought them at the store and don’t let me know if they are not organic.

My ingredients in this recipe (4 servings)

  • pint of fresh wax beans

  • 4 servings worth of chickpea pasta (or another pasta of your choice

  • bunch of garden basil (or garden mint), minced

  • 1 TBS Olive Oil

  • 1 TBS Coconut vinegar (or your choice) but this one has good bacteria and other benefits, and it light, for summer. (optional)

  • 1 TBS of hemp hearts (or parmesan cheese if you are a dairy fan)

  • Celtic sea salt to taste

  • Pepper and/or cumin to taste, I used ground cumin as a replacement for pepper a lot in summer to add spice instead of heat for the summer. Just a personal preference. :)

Simple steps - total prep 5 minutes (not including picking the beans)

  • Steam the beans while you cook the pasta. The beans need only about 3 minutes to steam, so you may want to start the pasta ahead of time.

  • The chickpea pasta that I used takes only 5 minutes to cook. Follow package instructions

  • Plate the pasta and the beans (the is my preference, but you can mix all ingredients in a bowl and serve family style)

  • Drizzle on the olive oil, the vinegar, sprinkle on the minced basil, help hearts, salt and pepper or cumin and serve.

Can be served hot or cold. Enjoy!
