Gratitude ~ Artist Reception Invite

Gratitude ~ Artist Reception Invite

‘ever wonder how tangled thoughts emerge into something beautiful?’

Dr Nishan Halim is graciously hosting a wonderful art show called “gratitude” at his office. The artists will be from Capitol Hill Art League and be submitting artistic expressions of gratitude ~ a feeling/emotion, expression, trait, a motivator/purpse, a behavior, a sense of well being…

I submitted a painting you can see here in pinks and deep warm colors, as gratitude for me warms the heart, like these colors. Gratitude is often measured in a similar vibration to pink in particular.

This will be an awesome event, as Dr. Halim is always generous with the guests. It is put on in conjunction with the Capitol Hill Art League

  • Reception ~ Friday, November 15, 5:30-7:30pm

  • Show runs from Friday November 1 through December 12

See you there!

Visit me at the Gallery and meet my garden bamboo prints

bamboo in pink, Bamboo from my garden was inked and rolled through a printing press with inked plates on BFK Reeves cotton paper. Size is 11x14, It’s mounted to a wooden cradle board and framed in white wood.

Please join me at Washington Printmakers Gallery this day. I”ll be there from 11-5 and would love to show you my two prints made from my garden’s bamboo.

I will have about 15 works in various plants, most using a combination of color and natural plant tannin.

I look forward to seeing you there!

“When I saw this painting, it stopped me and I felt my eyes go ‘soft’ in vision and just stood there enjoying the change in me. I seemed to create through my breath , feeling relaxed and mysterious.

Because I could, I changed the direction of the image, going from vertical to horizontal — I saw and felt the image in a totally different way — each turn of the view, stirred a unique sense of how change of view can reva instantly a deep change internally.

Which is why original art is so timeless in reflecting our inner selves.”

Thank you Karin!!
